ABOUT US

The TOOZLE Story

Since I was a young girl, I’ve loved jigsaw puzzles. My sisters and I would often sit with our mother near the sunny window of our California home, putting together jigsaw puzzles for hours on end. We talked and laughed and helped each other find elusive pieces.

Even as a busy teen, I found it hard to resist a good puzzle. When I was a college freshman, other girls and I once stayed up an entire night working a puzzle in the dorm.

Creating Memories Through Puzzling

When my own kids were little, I bought them wooden jigsaw puzzles. My children explored shapes, learned about patterns, and discovered how the pieces fit. Completing a puzzle gave them a real sense of accomplishment.

As they grew, we worked together on jigsaw puzzles with greater numbers of smaller pieces. Even in times of stress, or when my teens were less prone to talk, we could sit at the table and work a puzzle in harmony. Now that they are parents themselves, they're buying puzzles for their own children.

Today, my husband and I almost always have a puzzle in progress. We also share our love of jigsaw puzzles with guests in our home, often at a soup-supper and puzzle night. These gatherings have become a joyful tradition that we intend to continue.

Our families and friends trade puzzles, extending the life of each purchase we make. And when we’ve all had a turn, we pass our puzzles to a retirement home to bring joy to yet another community of puzzlers.

A Journey of Two Lifelong Puzzlers

For part of my career, I taught middle school science. Seeing my students’ eyes light up with new-found knowledge was a true delight. My husband, Joe Hennager, was trained as an art educator and is an accomplished artist in his own right. Our combined love of learning, art, and jigsaw puzzles sparked the birth of my woman-owned small business, TOOZLE, which I founded at the age of 70 (Jigsaw puzzles help keep our brains healthy!). Won't you join our TOOZLE family?
